The Hoogsteder Lexicon of all the painters active in The Hague 1600-1700. This beautiful catalogue accompanied the exhibition on the Hague painters organised by Hoogsteder & Hoogsteder in the Hague Historical Museum to mark 750 years of The Hague. The catalogue was produced in close collaboration with the Netherlands Institute for Art Histort. The publication contains several introductory essays which throw light on the painters milieu and the buying public against the background of Hague history. These are followed by separate entries on the forty most important masters. To complete the book there is an illustrated (English language) index listing all the circa 665 painters who were active in The Hague between 1600 and 1700. With the many superb illustrations this is a valuable work of reference. Edwin Buijsen is the main author with contributions from Rudi Ekkart, Marijke de Kinkelder, Erik L?ffler, Fred Meijer, Els Neuman, Carola Vermeeren and Ineke Wansink.
