玛丽·安·谢弗（Mary Ann Shaffer，1934—2008）
美国作家。曾任出版社编辑、图书馆员、书店店员，最大的梦想便是写作、出版一本自己的书。
1976年，她在赴伦敦旅行中一时兴起飞往根西岛，返程时因大雾受困机场，只得待在男洗手间一边靠烘手机取暖，一边读完了机场书店的所有图书，从此与根西岛结下一世情缘。多年后，在朋友怂恿之下，她拿起笔一圆创作梦，将故事背景设定在魂牵梦绕的根西岛。作品尚未结稿，已在欧美的出版界与坊间不胫流传。
