内容简介

《地下水模型校正与可靠性:地下水和环境管理(英文版)》内空简介:Ground water flow and contaminant transport modeling has been widely used both in regional ground water resource management and in hazardous waste site remediation with varying degrees of success. Models may be used throughout all phases of the site investigation and remediation processes. The ability to reliably predict the rate and direction of groundwater flow and contaminant transport is critical in planning and implementing ground water remediation.

ModelCARE2009 was the Seventh International Conference on Calibration and Reliability in Groundwater Modeling organized by the International Commission for Groundwater (ICGW) of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS). It followed the previous six successful conferences:ModelCARE2007, Copenhagen, Denmark;ModelCARE2005, The Hague, The Netherlands (From Uncertainty to Decision making);ModelCARE2002, Prague, Czech Republic (A Few Steps Closer to Reality);ModeICARE'99, Ziiich, Switzerland (Coping with Uncertainty);ModelCARE'96, Golden, USA;ModeICARE'90, The Hague, The Netherlands.

The ModelCARE2009 conference addressed the applicability of various approaches to real-world problems through advanced case studies and identified future needs and paths toward progress for research and development. The conference theme was "Managing Groundwater and the Environment".Within the context of model calibration and reliability, issues of groundwater quantity and quality were addressed. ModelCARE2009 attracted more than 150 scientists affiliated with universities, research and regulatory institutions, from 17 countries to Wuhan, central China. The nearly 140 papers published in this proceeding summarize current research on the topic of groundwater modeling. For this ModeICARE conference, more than half of the papers were from Chinese scientists, attesting to the increasing impact their science is having on the world stage of hydrogeology. The research results presented in this proceeding are of interest to students and professionals studying both the fundamental and applied aspects of groundwater modeling.
