克里斯多旺·布瓦尔克（Cristovam Buarque）：巴西上院议员，前教育部长。早年学习机械工程，后在法国巴黎索邦大学获得经济学博士学位。曾在美洲开发银行工作，后任巴西大学教授。八五年至八九年，任巴西大学校长。九五年至九八年，任联邦州州长。零二年高票当选上议院议员。零三、零四年出任教育部长。他还是教科文教育委员会成员。

克里斯多旺、布瓦尔克先生是几个重要的与贫困作斗争的计划的创始者，如Bolsa-Escola 计划（注：通过给与贫困家庭津贴来换取它们的孩子上学的计划）。出版过二十余本著作，长期为巴西的各种杂志报刊撰稿，并当任许多国际如联合国和巴西的各种组织的顾问、成员。
